The cooperation between the BMW group and the ECKART Academy (since 2012) developed the application ‘ESSENS.ZEIT’ to help apprentices of the BMW group to develop cooking skills. The idea behind the application bases on the fact that youngsters, who live the first time on their own, often only have marginal knowledge to cook and prepare their own food. Consequently many young people consume convenience products and fast food, both having tremendously negative consequences for their health. In the application, Eckard Witzigmann explains step by step how to prepare easy, healthy dishes. Containing the favorite recipes of the age group, the recipes are all easy and also adequate to the budget of the apprentices. The app already won several prices and is one of the mostly downloaded apps in the category ‘cooking’. The app is available free of charge in the app stores (Google Playstore and App Store).
